2021 Ford F-150 light duty pickup truck is getting evolutionary exterior updates and a new interior alongside addition of new equipment
Ford has teased the next generation F-150 for the final time before its global unveil tomorrow. The highly anticipated model is expected to help in the Blue Oval garnering high sales volumes in the global markets. One teaser image showcased the overhead shot of the new F-150 towing a boat while the other is a digital representation of the pre-production model as the entire vehicle is shadowed except for the headlamps.
The outgoing Ford F-150 has been available only for six years internationally and it will be replaced with a brand new model due to the increase in competition and Ford switching its focus towards launching passenger Utility Vehicles for the betterment of the future. The comprehensive makeover will go up against the heavily updated Chevy Silverado, latest GMC Sierra and Ram 1500 from FCA.
The 2021 Ford F-150 gets a set of the discontinuous bracket shaped LED headlamps with bigger units on top and the L-shaped portion at the bottom. The front fascia appears to have become more upright with redesigned front grille and muscular bonnet structure. The bumper will also be brand new as sculpted lines and prominent wheel arches will be part of the package.
The body panels of the fourteenth generation Ford F-150 will likely be new as well as it appears to be based on a heavily upgraded platform. While the exterior has taken an evolutionary approach compared to the outgoing model, the interior gets a host of updates including a larger high-res touchscreen infotainment system with sizes ranging up to 15 inches.
An all-digital instrument cluster similar to the sixth-generation Mustang cannot be ruled out of the equation either. It is said to boast of lay-flat front passenger seat, suitable for camping and even taking a nap. Moreover, the improvements to software meant that over-the-air updates, connectivity features and technologies, and an on-board generator will be present.
Additionally, the light-duty pickup truck will gain more upmarket interior material quality and a suite of driver-assistive, comfort, convenience and safety based technologies.
